Retiring Abroad: Travel Advisories and Travel Insurance Coverage

Retiring to a warm and beautiful location, even for just part of the year, has always been a dream of many Canadians. However, the topic of retiring abroad has become more convoluted in the last few months. Due to the unprecedented and unpredictable coronavirus pandemic, many snowbirds were left scrambling to get back to Canada in time, after international travel advisories were issued.

Looking ahead, an additional point of stress and confusion is travel medical insurance and how that has been affected by this situation. This will not just be a short term issue, but will likely affect retirement outside Canada in the future as well.
