Milestone’s 4th Annual Masters College Student Film Festival & Fundraiser

With nail-biting suspense, this year’s Film Festival attendees were glued to the big screen as three films jostled for first place through real time voting.  With phones in hand, votes were cast to determine who would win the People’s Choice Award for Best Film.  As this voting was occurring, four film industry judges were huddled in another room debating which teams would win first, second and third place for the Critic’s Choice award.  And for the first time in the Film Festival’s history, the same movie “School’s Out”, produced by a trio of Grade 8s took first place in both People’s Choice and Critic’s choice categories.  A surprise twist to complete an eventful evening!

This year’s Film Festival proved to be our best yet, not only in terms of money raised for the school, but also in terms of parent engagement and the overall vibe at the event.  The top floor of the historic Globe Cinema was replete with raffle baskets, silent auction items and one table straining under the load of the grand prize wine raffle.

While Milestone Asset Management is the lead sponsor for this event, it would not have been possible without all the hard work put in by the staff at Masters and the parent volunteers.  We wished to thank all of these individuals, those who supported the event from afar, and everyone who attended the gala evening.  Milestone has been proud to partner with Masters College and we look forward to going bigger and better in the years to come.
