Best places to retire in Canada

There are many factors to consider in planning one’s retirement.  In the “Retiring Abroad” segment of our blog, we look at the question of “where do I/we want to live?” or “where would I/we like to travel?” in retirement.  Many retirees choose to stay in the area they lived pre-retirement, but some want to venture out and relocate to an entirely new locale.  In past blog posts, we have listed the top-ranked countries in the world, as well as the top-rated cities in the US in which to retire.

In this post, we focus on Canada.  Choosing to retire to a new location can be fun and exciting, and you don’t necessarily have to leave Canada to do it.  As a client (who has recently done just this) mentioned, there is so much roaming to be done right in our own backyard.  As we all know, we live in a beautiful country with so much to explore, while at the same time enjoying all of the “comforts of home” available in Canada.  Some examples include universal health care, not having to worry about currency changes between Canada and another country, and the peace of mind that a stable government and tax regime provide.

According to the Business Advice Source website, here are the top nine cities in Canada to retire:
